Training... Training and more Training or are we?!?

So Spring is upon us, we're busy with various IT projects in and around Fife, Edinburgh and Glasgow but a lot has happened since we first blogged about our intentions to complete the Gold level at this years Maggie's Monster Bike and Hike!!

Simon has been out on his new shiny road racer twice (and fallen off twice), Andy has been running like something out of Forrest Gump and according to him, life is like a box of chocolates, Derek our secret weapon has had to drop out due to a horrendous snap of the achillies tendon - similar to David Beckham's recent hiccup but with less press coverage... we were sure the paparazzi from the Glenrothes Gazzette would of been round hounding us for a statement! In his place though is our man from Iran, Hesam Fekri - he's crazy passionate about IT but he's our new secret weapon for the epic journey along the Great Glen Way - he'll be supplying the nuts! And me, well, had a dramatic fall off my racer during training but rolled in to a walk so apart from my bike lying in the middle of the road - I'm sure no one witnessed it! Talking of witnesses, Simon has developed a new style of running whereby he runs right through people - we're sure it's part of his Dundonian upbringing - sorry I mean Kirriemuir (much much much farther North of The City of Discovery!!).

So training is continuing for us four troopers - not long to go and still so much Vaseline to buy!! On the IT side, we've launched a new Anti Virus product to sit along the side of our other Remotely services; Remotely Mail, Remotely Backup, and Remotely Support, called Remotely AV which is as we speak, protecting our customers on the road from those nasty Viruses and security threats - give us a call if you want to know more or visit our website at www.itek.co.uk

Back to work now but will keep our strict training regimes in check and update on progress along the way. Oh, and you can sponsor us at http://www.justgiving.com/ItekSoSolidCrew

That's all folks...

Maggie's Monster Bike n Hike 2010!!

So I guess we better get in training as from what I hear, we're signed up to do the 2010 Maggie's Monster Bike and Hike... the Gold finish no less!!

Maggie's Monster Bike and Hike is in its 6th year and for those of you who don't know, is a 24-hour fund raising challenge involving a 30 mile cycle and then a 43 mile walk through the Scottish Highlands starting in Fort William and ending at Inverness.

The team from Itek is made up of Andrew Bousie, Derek Fowler, Simon Ferguson and myself, David Patten. We've also adopted Azher Ahmed from vets-now and there's one space left so if anyone fancies it or happens to know Lance Armstrong, then give him a shout - I'm sure he wouldn't slow us up too much!

The fundraising target is at least £400 per participant so we'll be hoping to get those forms filled out and will have a justgiving page as well.

Simon apparently is in the process of making up a training schedule so watch this space although Andrew has already been out in the warm evening's we've been having getting some practice in - if you're around the Ladybank area watch out for a grown man on a baby pink bike with a basket on the front - that's our Andrew training hard!

The event is on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd May 2010 - watch this space!

Thanks
David

The new Itek website launched!!

The new look Itek website has just been launched on Friday 12th June 2009. An entirely new look with fresh design, improved structure and clear navigation has been the recipe behind the new site.

With input from all the Itek team, the new website has an improved structure and makes navigating through the site a breeze (well, we think so anyway!!) Any website is an essential marketing tool and with the old site coming under some fire from various angles - the time had come to get out with the old and in with the new.

Being Itek's latest addition to the team, I headed up the project and made it one of the area's I wanted to tackle first. We hope our customers and any potential customers find the new site informative and well.... better than the last one!

We've got a downloads section where we've added desktop display pictures and will update it with any literature and company logos we think may be of any use to you.

Any comments... just let me know.

See the new website at http://www.itek.co.uk/

Thanks!
